We
have all heard the statement “you are what you think
about.” Your performance and results can skyrocket with

Sport
Physicians have predicted that athletes have reached the limit
of their physical capacity to excel. The next level of athletic
performance will be reached by tapping into and using the
power of the mind by mentally focusing on the ideal shot or
ideal run - not practicing on the playing field. Recent tests
have shown that by consciously focusing on thoughts of perfect
shots, believing they are possible and visualizing the action
in their heads,
outstanding performances resulted. Athletes were able to access
personal potential that was previously untapped, and this
potential is anticipated as unlimited.
Heightened performance is also available to each of us by
becoming conscious of what we think about. Here’s the
relationship: Thoughts – Beliefs – Action –
Results. When we focus our thoughts, we take personal responsibility
to create whatever we want to achieve. Michael Jordan’s
success is a testament to his power of mental focus and as
Thomas Edison put it, “Whatever your mind can conceive
and believe, you can achieve.” And, when Isaac Newton
was asked how h discovered gravity, he replied, “By
thinking about it all of the time.”

A fun way to experience the ‘power of focus’ in
action is to hold your arm out to your side, and visualize
your arm as a fire hose. Visualize a stream of high-pressured
water blasting out the end at your hand. Now have an associate
or friend try to push it down. If you are really focused on
being like that fire hose, they will not be able to!

of Opportunity…Transfer Fear into Power

is being very close to truth and frightened to look at it.
The other side of fear is insight.” Betty Bethards
Fear
is a block. It holds us back from trusting ourselves, causes
worry, makes or bodies tense, and fear masquerades as the
need to control. We each have fears about concerns that zap
our energy. When we are afraid of anything, we are acknowledging
its power to hurt us. Fear appears real for each of us…but
only in our minds. What
is F.E.A.R? It is False Evidence Appearing Real. It’s
an illusion when we believe that something is real but it
isn’t.
We’ve
heard many times that anything feared must be faced in order
for it to go away. This is how we ‘face our fears’
and turn them into power for our confidence and growth. I
look at fear or discomfort as an indicator, a sign, that I
need to handle something, change a belief, or choose a different
interpretation.
Let’s
take the example of children who mistake harmless things,
like a shadow of a toy in the night, for horrible monsters.
Some have the courage to turn on the light and take a look.
Others have the courage to cry out for help. But those who
choose to hide under the covers, afraid to even breathe, are
in the worse position of all. They are prisoners of their
own imaginations. When we grow older it’s not so easy
to hide under the covers. Instead, we learn to hide from our
fears in other ways. We believe that denial will make them
go away. Awareness
of our fears is the first step in breaking out of the pattern
of worry and control. This
insightful workshop will provide you with a four-step process
to facing your fears and reclaiming power.
